Charts - Military-style Diet

I found a new diet. It looks great too. I even altered it to suit my tastes. It's called the Military Diet and claims you can lose up to 10 pounds in 3 days!

Unfortunately, I'm a huge slacker and monitoring my eating habits takes time and losing weight isn't high on my priority list. I hate that I'm gaining weight like a hippo even though I haven't changed eating habits in years. It's the cursed age. So now I have to make major diet changes so I can have more energy and less mass when it's time to keep up with grandchildren! Time shows no mercy!

So this Military Diet is a little extreme, but it has good principles. I already know what I'm supposed to do, I just don't wanna! Eat more veg, fruit, grain, and drink more water - eat less crap. Same old story! To inspire myself, I made some fun charts...
Here's the blank, if you're interested.
I don't intend to lose 10 pounds in 3 days. I need a complete lifestyle change of eating habits. Counting calories is time consuming. Paying attention to calories makes me feel guilty. But there are many days I wake up and say, this is the day I start eating better. Then my husband brings home pumpkin donuts - come on! I am gradually doing better, drinking more water and reaching for fruit or veg more often... just gotta keep trying to RESIST YUMMY TEMPTATION! Not to mention, exercise more...

If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!

  1. Please don't do this diet, it's basically a diet scam, has NOTHING to do with the military and any weight loss is mostly water not fat. You need to eat 3500 calories less, over a period of days or weeks, to lose 1lb. I can help, if you need it. I could even do a guest post 😉

    1. Of course you should do a guest post!

It is so tempting to lose weight fast, but like Tara said, she'd never shoot for that fast. It would be awesome if was healthy and could last. I do love Tara's charts for planning. One of my biggest diet pit falls is hitting a meal and not having a plan of action- that makes the temptation of a doughnut so much stronger.

    1. But the charts are! It's so easy, especially when you're feeling like a hippo (bad girl to call yourself that!) to be tempted into plans that are fast. And you are the queen of results- I can see where a slow and steady plan is just not your first thought. By nature, you are a go-getter.

  3. Hi Tara - sounds like you've some good advice here ... and Annalisa knows what she's talking about.

I'm going to put a post up about vanilla - in a week or so ... and I found that it mentioned ... if you have a whiff of essence before a meal - it can tell your brain that you don't need to eat so much ... worth a try - no food involved!!

Cheers and good luck - Hilary

    1. I wonder...what if I added a dash of vanilla to my morning tea? I'll have to try that!

It's so tempting to want to take off the weight fast. I'm guilty of it myself.

  4. Man, if I ate a starvation diet like that, my stomach would be growling so loud, it'd interfere with satellite communications.
