Exercise Quickies!



All that time spent on the computer adding inches to your waistline?

Use the computer to your advantage. 

We all love to troll videos on YouTube...why not add a couple of short exercise videos to the line up? 

Here's a few. 
They're quick and free. 








Don't feel like exercising?

Then get out of your chair and have some fun!






Can you think of any other fun dance songs we should add to our get up and boogie list?

  1. I am delighted to report that our exercise classes are starting again today. That first exercise in the first video is like our "sit to stand" - before Christmas I was up to 30 but won't be able to do that now. So how many of these exercises are you doing Liz? I used to be the local Macarena expert. Probably couldn't remember the moves now.

    1. I never did learn how to Macarena. I am completely uncoordinated and barely know my left from my right. I have been doing better. Taking your advice, I stopped thinking I needed a 40 minute block for exercise. I always feel like I don't have time for that.

    2. If you do some exercise for 10 or even 5 minutes several times a day it still works apparently. When you vacuum make it an exercise. Stairs as you know are good too. I can't do stairs any more unfortunately. Pity, we have lots of them in our apartment building but I only go for the elevator.

    3. I read where breaking it up is actually better. It raises your resting heart rate for a bit after activity, so when you break up the movement, you have a longer calorie burn.

      I think you're totally right about taking every opportunity to move when we can. I never used to exercise at all when my kids were little. I just chased them everywhere.

  6. I watched all of your videos, and didn't even break a sweat. Not bad for an old broad, right? Oh... wait. I guess I was actually supposed to get up and DO that stuff, huh? Never mind...

    Just kidding. I used to be a stickler about exercising at the gym. Before our membership expired, my hubby built a small gym in our yard, which was better yet. I would go out every morning. Then, when he had a bunch of stuff he was in need of storing temporarily, I "invited" him to put some of it in the gym. BIG mistake. Long story, my sweet little gym is a thing of the past. Videos like you shared here are a great alternative.

    1. It's so easy to break a good habit. Those bad ones will cling for years and years.

      I'm really good at watching exercise videos too. The only one I was eager to do was the Electric Slide. That's just fun! Macarena too, but my lack of coordination frustrates me.
